Official statistics showed that as of the end of October, China’s 3G users has reached 8.32 million, of which 4.99 million were users of China Telecom<0728><CHA>, 1.02 million were from China Unicom<600050><0762><CHU>, and 2.31 million are from China Mobile<0941><CHL>. Xiamen Int’l Bank eyes 40% growth in 2009Published: 20 Jan 2009 00:00:00 PSTJan. 20, 2009 (China Knowledge) – Xiamen International Bank, the first joint venture bank in China, expects its onshore business to increase up to 40% this year and will expand its business in China in spite of the economic recession, a senior executive of XIB said, sources reported.XIB, based in Xiamen, a deputy-provincial city in Fujian Province, expects deposits, lending and profits to grow by 35% to 40% this year. Deputy general manager of the bank, Zheng Wei noted that the bank, unlike the bigger players, is still in its growing stage and needs to keep expanding despite the financial crisis.The bank plans to open six to ten outlets in its existing markets. Yesterday, XIB opened its Jing’an branch in Shanghai, in a bid to provide services to commercial, industrial, and individual clients.
