There was big news in F1, ALMS, and rally racing and lots of new car releases that show that manufacturers still care about performance. New Mustangs and Italian compacts are great, but they can be even better once they’re raced.
This was a grassroots event built off of street level marketing geared toward guys (and gals) who love cars. Period.
The award was given to the manufacturer that had the most number of vehicles on displays. With numerous companies showcasing the Camaro in their booth, Chevy took home the award.
Beyond the usual rich guys with Ferraris and Porsche 911 GT3s, entrants included the Super Lap Battle, Redline, ALMS, Grand-Am, Driver’s Cup, and World Challenge series.
It also saw more than a few off-track excursions and engine explosions. All hail the almighty engine fire.
Looking back at the 2010 SEMA Show, we pick more of our favorite cars on display within the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Twelve CR-Z vehicles ranging from slightly modified to fully-built were on display – Eibach Springs, Bisimoto Engineering, Fortune Motorsports, Meguiar’s Wraptivo, and others.
From 145hp to 2,000hp and beyond, the 2010 SEMA Show had a variety of different cars. Some were show cars, some street legal, and some all-out racecars.
World Racing’s new 1,500hp all-wheel drive Unlimited Class Scion tC time attack racecar. Driven by Chris Rado, the AWD tC’s turbocharged engine is capable of putting out drag-level power and is equipped with his signature front and rear wings.
It’s no coincidence that the annual SEMA Show takes place in the heart of Sin City. Packed to the grilles with aftermarket parts and modified cars, the enthusiast trade show is high on flash and bolt-ons. And we’re just talking abou the booth babes.
With the release of the all-new 2011 Scion tC, there were bound to be some modified examples coming down the pipeline. The first examples, most of which featured custom or prototype components, debuted at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Consisting of time trials, an open GTGP Challenge race, Pirelli Drivers Cup USA Porsche race, and historic stock cars, the GTGP weekend was a mix of both time attack and wheel-to-wheel road racing.

Racecars shine through the night, often with their headlights alone leading the way. Combine that with nighttime photography and fireworks, now you’ve got a race.
As the final stop on the ALMS calender, Petit Le Mans is a 10-hour or 1,000-mile endurance race at Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA. Run as the season ender for the first time since 2003, Petit Le Mans has this year become a significant game changer.
Two teams that were sure to get some practice time, regardless of the conditions, were both fielding Porsches. Flying Lizard, in the hunt for the GT championship, put their 911 GT3 RSR out on track with the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid.
