RC Developments Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6

With its neon color scheme, sister car to the neon orange Evo 6 that is also prepared by RC Developments, this Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 is one of the most distinctive time attack cars out of the UK.
Time attack is basically your standard time trial racing, just dressed up with better promotion and incredibly modified cars. There are lapping sessions and the best lap time for the day counts. There are different classes and often professional drivers , but the racing is not wheel-to-wheel. Still, the UK time attack cars are able to outpace the British Touring Car Championship racecars, which are heavily prepared themselves. Chalk that up to a near-standard 550hp+ among all the top time attack competitors.
This Evo features a completely custom built engine and a massive turbocharger, pushing out 850hp. The video below was taken on a gymkhana-style handling course at the 2008 Redline Ten of the Best competition at Elvington Airfield in Yorks. The RC Development Evo 6 also laid down a 0-400m time of 9.73 @ 148mph and top speed of 182.9mph.
Just watching the video below, you’ll see the amount of power that runs through this car and how large the turbo is to achieve that power. Over the noise of the non-synchronized “dog” gearbox, you’ll be able to hear the engine struggle to get into boost. This car as built for real tracks, like Silverstone, and not for cone dodging.
